The Technion Stem Cell Research Lab of Professor Ruby Shalom-Feuerstein
Research Focus: Our lab investigates the biology of epithelial stem cells and tissue regeneration, with a focus on the skin and cornea. We aim to uncover the molecular and cellular mechanisms that govern stem cell identity, behavior, and plasticity in both health and disease. By integrating in vivo and in vitro models, we explore how stem cells interact with their microenvironment, respond to injury, and contribute to tissue repair.
Interested in pioneering research in stem cells and regeneration? Our lab is looking for outstanding MSc, PhD students & postdocs who are eager to take part in cutting-edge research at the forefront of stem cell biology & regeneration.
Current projects include:
- Live tracking of healthy and mutant stem cells to understand their behavior and dynamics in real time
- Investigating the complex interactions between stem cells and their niche in health and disease
- Developing strategies to generate stem cells and bioengineered tissue for regenerative medicine
If you are curious, passionate about research, & excited to be part of a team addressing fascinating scientific questions with the potential to shape future medicine, we would love to hear from you!
